Support for Technical Education in Guinea

The Alcoa Foundation generously awarded IFESH a grant to implement the Support for Technical Education in Guinea project aimed at providing technical assistance to the Center for Professional Training in Boké over a two-year period (December 2008 through December 2010). The CFP trains students to work in different enterprises in the Boké region, particularly the mining industry. The specific objectives of IFESH's technical assistance to the CFP-Boké are to:

• Strengthen the quality of professional and practical training components of the Center's curriculum and training projects.
• Enhance the professional competencies of the teachers and instructors of the Center through group workshops.
• Enhance the quality of knowledge and skills set of both the student trainees and teachers (trainers) of the Center.
• Support the centers and local communities in the Boké region in the the development of gender equity projects and projects focused on HIV/AIDS awareness.
